A shared clock. A common frame. Better context.

Why time synchronization and coordinate transforms come before useful multimodal perception.

Start with the clock

Sensor streams can arrive at different frequencies and with different timing behavior. A useful pipeline needs an explicit approach to timestamps and alignment, including how it handles late, missing, or inconsistent input.

Make space explicit

Sensors also observe the world from different positions and orientations. Calibration and coordinate transforms establish the relationships between those views so that observations can be interpreted in a common frame.

Keep alignment observable

Alignment is an operating concern as well as a setup concern. Pipeline configuration, calibration context, and event traces help engineers reason about the outputs they are seeing. HoloNexa places these building blocks alongside fusion and inference in its modular architecture.

These notes describe architectural principles from the HoloNexa company brief. Specific capabilities and deployment suitability require a project discussion.
